Transparent Personal Finance Introduction

Like many of you I’ve spent a large majority of my life handling money poorly. But after being faced with $17,000 of personal debt, I decided it was time to make a change.

So I sold my new truck, my wife and I ate chicken and rice for months, stopped buying coffees (as much). And we got that debt paid off! Victory! Right? Right…?

But after paying off that debt, we still find ourselves stressed about money. We have a budget now, we should be spending less than we make and have room to save. But it still feels *tight*. So having been born in the internet generation. I browse the web quite often for advice and how-to’s on how to 1. Make more money. 2. How to better handle money.

You get a wide range of “HOW TO MAKE MONEY USING THIS TACTIC THAT YOU WILL DISCOVER IN MY $1,500 COURSE”, “PURCHASE MY $10 BUDGET TEMPLATE TO HANDLE YOUR MONEY BETTER”, “START THIS EASY SIDE HUSTLE THAT NO ONE IS DOING, JOIN MY FB GROUP OR DISCORD TO LEARN MORE”. And it seems that every time I look into one of these, there is a level of transparency that is low, or just not there at all.

But I know there has to be a better way… So I decided to show my journey to financial freedom and my transparent take on personal finance, entrepreneurship, passive income, wealth management, investing, side hustles and any other topic related to money.

Now I am not a financial expert, nor an English professor, so bare with me as I learn the ins and outs of blogging. But I promise to always maintain transparency in my journey to financial freedom. I may go by a pen name and keep certain parts of the journey anonymous. But I promise to share as much as I feel comfortable sharing, any and all wins and losses, education and insight gained, tutorials on side hustle and business ideas and how I complete them, and I will NEVER sell a course or try to charge you for anything you would not normally purchase.

So welcome to Transparent Personal Finance, and please follow me on my journey to financial freedom! And best of luck with your own journey.
